President Mnangagwa Chairs Final 2025 Cabinet Meeting, Sets Stage for NDS-2

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa today chaired the final Cabinet Calendar Meeting for 2025 at State House in Harare, marking the close of a year characterised by resilience, reform, and steady progress in national development.

In his address, the President thanked Cabinet ministers for their service, commitment, and collective dedication to advancing Government priorities throughout the year. He commended the effectiveness and responsiveness of Cabinet work in 2025, while urging members to further improve attendance, prioritise Cabinet business, and uphold the highest standards of responsibility befitting national leadership.

President Mnangagwa noted that despite persistent global economic shocks, Zimbabwe recorded notable gains under the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS-1). He highlighted a strengthening macro-economic environment, improved currency stability through the ZiG, and tangible progress in key sectors including energy generation, infrastructure development, mining, manufacturing, tourism, and social services.

The President also underscored the impact of ongoing public sector reforms, which have enhanced accountability, performance management, and service delivery. He commended the Civil Service for its professionalism and improved coordination in supporting Government programmes, calling on ministries to sustain momentum and ensure uninterrupted service delivery during the festive season.

Looking ahead, President Mnangagwa emphasised that as Zimbabwe concludes the NDS-1 period, Government remains firmly focused on consolidating gains and preparing for the rollout of NDS-2 in 2026. He reiterated that the next phase of development will be guided by a Whole-of-Government and Whole-of-Society approach, aligned with the national Vision 2030 agenda.

The meeting also formally welcomed the Minister of Mines and Mining Development, Honourable Polite Kambamura, into Cabinet.

In closing, President Mnangagwa encouraged Cabinet members to conduct themselves responsibly during the holiday period and extended his best wishes to the nation, wishing Zimbabweans a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, as the country continues its collective journey towards an upper middle-income economy by 2030.
