The ZANU PF Commissariat Department has announced the temporary suspension of the distribution of the Presidential Economic Empowerment Revolving Fund, with immediate effect.
In a circular dated January 23, 2026, addressed to provincial chairpersons across all provinces, the party said the suspension will remain in force pending the issuance of new guidelines governing the fund’s distribution, utilisation, and management.
According to the notice, the Secretary General, Cde Advocate J.F.N. Mudenda, is expected to soon release revised guidelines that will provide clarity on how the fund should be administered going forward.
“All provinces are advised to comply with this party position pending further instruction,” the circular states.
The communication was issued by the National Political Commissar, M. Machacha, and bears an official stamp from ZANU PF Headquarters, confirming its authenticity.
The Presidential Economic Empowerment Revolving Fund has been one of the party’s key empowerment mechanisms aimed at supporting economic activities at grassroots level. However, the letter does not specify the reasons for the suspension, nor does it indicate a timeline for the resumption of disbursements.
The circular was copied to the Secretary General and the Treasurer General, P.A. Chinamasa, underscoring the matter’s significance within the party’s senior leadership structures.
Further details are expected once the promised guidelines are officially released.
